Louise Allen ´ 2 Summary

Louise Allen ´ 2 Summary The Piratical Miss Ravenhurst Characters ¸ 2 Or and his guarded heart dictate that Nathan resist Clemence Though it seems she's determined to make their adventure as outrageous and passionate as possible. After reading two Ravenhurst books I m wondering if the device in all of them is to have the hero heroine deliberately miscommunicate to the point of absurdity This one wasn t nearly as good as The Disgraceful Mr Ravenhurst which had personality and atmosphere of the times This book was pretty generic overall with the evil relatives abusing poor Clemence conveniently dealt with off scene by lawyersAlso Allen needs to rein in her sentences or else her editor needs to step in There was one with 7 ands And the climax of hero heroine was one rambling paragraph long sentence Breathless indeed

The Piratical Miss Ravenhurst

Louise Allen ´ 2 Summary The Piratical Miss Ravenhurst Characters ¸ 2 The CaribbeanNathan Stanier disgraced undercover naval officer and navigator protects Clemence on their perilous journeyThe heat between them sizzles But hon. I chose to read this book this week as my kids and I are studying Jamaica here at home and part of the story takes place in Jamaica I liked only a couple aspects of this book and those were that 1 Clemence the heroine is a very strong and independent young woman and 2 The story is much different than many other romances of this time period She finds herself as a cabin boy on a pirate ship with a undercover naval officer after escaping from her abusive and criminal island relatives who steal her inheritance hold her prisoner and threaten to rape her As someone who is 30 years senior of the heroine and married I found the whole virgin story line a bit tiresome The only lovemaking scene besides the kissing scenesin which she finally loses her virginity was extremely tepid My thoughts were I waited for the whole story for THIS This author knows NOTHING about how to write a passionate lovemaking scene I would have given the story a higher rating if this scene had been appealing But the story might appeal to readers who are still virgins themselves

Louise Allen ´ 2 Summary The Piratical Miss Ravenhurst Characters ¸ 2 Alone and in danger Clemence Ravenhurst is forced to flee her beloved Jamaica and she falls straight into the clutches of one of the most dangerous pirates in. The characters are extremely flat and the plot is almost entirely told instead of shown The most obvious example of the lacking plot and characters to me was the supposedly vicious pirate captain Red Matthew McTiernan who we are told is one of the most dangerous pirates in that part of the world The most dangerous things he does prior to a life or death battle with the Navy however is order a crew member flogged 50 lashes for almost causing McTiernan injury or death through a mistake and indeed causing serious injury to another crew member He also shoved our protagonist into a bulkhead after catching her somewhere she was forbidden to be the big scary menace And that is literally all he is shown to do We don t even know for sure if the crew member died from those 50 lashes It is assumed but occurs entirely off screen with no evidence remaining after the fact This complete lack of evidence of a threat meant that there was no tension in the story at all rendering it genuinely boring to read I absolutely do NOT recommend this book to anyone The Hound of Ulster extremely flat and the plot is almost Unpeople Victims of British Policy entirely told instead of shown The most obvious Men in White Suits example of the lacking plot and characters to me was the supposedly vicious pirate captain Red Matthew McTiernan who we are told is one of the most dangerous pirates in that part of the world The most dangerous things he does prior to a life or death battle with the Navy however is order a crew member flogged 50 lashes for almost causing McTiernan injury or death through a mistake and indeed causing serious injury to another crew member He also shoved our protagonist into a bulkhead after catching her somewhere she was forbidden to be the big scary menace And that is literally all he is shown to do We don t Dune even know for sure if the crew member died from those 50 lashes It is assumed but occurs Tehanu entirely off screen with no A Tradition of Victory evidence remaining after the fact This complete lack of Monstruos como nosotros Historias de freaks colosos y prodigios evidence of a threat meant that there was no tension in the story at all rendering it genuinely boring to read I absolutely do NOT recommend this book to anyone
