[Into the Cold Fire Daughters of the Moon #2] E–pub º Lynne Ewing Lynne Ewing Í 9 Free read I think this book could have worked well as an series aimed at older readers and that there wasn't that silly age limit The age limit always bothered me because at 17 many teenagers are still unsure of what they want in life and so forth To me it just felt like a cheesy plot device but the story itself did interest me it c

This review is also posted on my blog view spoilerSo I m not sure what it is about these books they re not without their problems and they re a bit too simple even for their intended age range and they didn t particularly age the best but I still have a soft spot for them I devoured the whole series in middle school and I LOVED it then and re reading it now in my late 20 s early 30 s I still enjoy them uite a bitAnd I DEFINITELY can see how this helped spark my love of the aesthetic good lordBut it s the issues I mentioned that drop it down to three stars cause augh they can t be overlooked The lack of offensive power on the Daughters parts the dependence on stereotypes the obvious plot twists the boy craziness how adult and sexualized 15 year old girls are portrayed how wolf whistles and catcalls and any sort of sexual male attention is painted as a good thing just generally there s uite a bit wrong with it but the overall story and plot driving things in the background is still keeping me going It still feels just like the first book did good underlying plot and story but mostly still disappointing I m not sure whether or not I d recommend the series to anybody who wouldn t be able to read it with a grain of salt frankly But if you can if you re able to read things and think of them critically then give it a try if it interests you This still definitely has that Sailor Moon magical girl feel to itAnd Jimena holding Serena in the fire in order to save her as she slowly dies herself got to me a bit Though she was also revived a little too easily but maybe sometimes I like simple revives It wears a lot less on my stress level LOLI don t have too much else to say about it really This felt very similar to the first book as I already said and I already said everything that needed to be said in my review of it I feel like I d just be repreating myself here so if you re curious go read that reviewSooner or later on to the third book hide spoiler

This is the second book in the Daughters of the Moon series and saying I loved it a hell of a lot than the first one would be the understatement of the century It wasn t because the first book sucked it was a fine three star book but THIS oneIt tells the story of the other daughter Serena and her struggle with temptation when it comes to the dark sideThe story was really well written because of the almost none linear narration and that s pretty much all I can say about the subject without spoiling anythingThe female characters were all strong but vulnerable at times and I liked that very much made them seem very powerful and real I really loved this book because it made me like characters I didn t in the first and also a plus GREEK MYTHOLOGY REFRENCES CAN I GET A HELL YEAHAll and all I loved the sombre ambiance of the whole book really dark and light at the same time I am SERIOUSLY looking forward to reading this series hoping it stays as good and get better I d totally recommend it to you if you like YA Greek mythology and witches
